Man Dressed as MTA Employee Robs Man in West Harlem Subway Station
The robbery occurred in a subway station on St. Nicholas Avenue.
HARLEM, NY — A man wearing a blue MTA shirt is wanted in connection with a robbery in a West Harlem subway station, police said.
The man approached a male victim on Tuesday, July 26, around 4 a.m., placed a sharp object on the victim's neck and stole his backpack before fleeing, police said. The robbery occurred in an unidentified subway station on St. Nicholas Avenue, police said. While police did not name the specific station, they did say that the robbery occurred within the 26th police precinct, which means the robbery occurred in either the 135th Street station or the 125th Street station in West Harlem.
The suspect (pictured above) is described as 35 to 40 years old, 5-foot-7 and 170 to 180 pounds.
