Man Found Dead Under Blanket On West Harlem Street

A man lying under a blanket on a West Harlem street was found dead following a cold night on Saturday, police said.

Police responded around 9:35 a.m. Saturday to a 911 call about an unconscious man in front of 1345 Amsterdam Ave., between 125th and 126th streets.

HARLEM, NY — Police are investigating after a man was found dead on a West Harlem street Saturday morning after a cold night.

Police responded around 9:35 a.m. Saturday to a 911 call about an unconscious man in front of 1345 Amsterdam Ave., between 125th and 126th streets.

Officers found the adult man unresponsive, lying on the pavement under a blanket. Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Temperatures reached as low as 25 degrees overnight between Friday and Saturday.

The man's name has not been released and the medical examiner will determine a cause of death. An investigation is ongoing, police said.
