Man Gets 25 Years to Life for 2014 Manhattanville Houses Shooting: DA
A man who fatally shot his girlfriends uncle in 2014 after a dispute at the Manhattanville Houses was sentenced Wednesday.
HARLEM, NY — A man convicted of shooting his girlfriends uncle after a dispute at West Harlem's Manhattanville Houses was sentenced Wednesday to serve 25 years to life in state prison, according to the Manhattan District Attorney's office.
Bryan Rogers, 32, shot and killed Todd Wilson on Aug. 10, 2014, the DA's office said in a press release. Rodgers, of Virginia Beach, was visiting the family of his girlfriend, Logan Wilson, in their apartment in the Manhattanville Houses to celebrate an annual "family day" celebration, according to the press release.
Rogers and Wilson missed their bus back to Virginia and returned to Wilson's family apartment in the Manhattanville Houses around 1:30 a.m. after becoming heavily intoxicated, according to the DA press release. Wilson's family members, including her uncle Todd Wilson, told the two to calm down and leave the apartment.

"Bryan Rogers committed a senseless act of violence as he opened fire and murdered Todd Wilson in front of his mother, sister, niece, and two children," said Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance. "I hope that this sentence provides the Wilson family with some measure of comfort as they cope with this devastating trauma and loss. In addition to holding perpetrators of gun violence accountable, our Office will continue fighting to advance laws and policies which prevent illegal guns from coming into our City in the first place."
