Man Killed In Harlem Hit-And-Run; Driver Remains At Large

A vehicle struck and killed a man on Lenox Avenue in Central Harlem early Monday and then fled the scene, police said.

HARLEM, NY — Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash in Harlem that left a man dead early Monday.

Police responded around 2:52 a.m. Monday to a 911 call, reporting an unconscious man in front of 290 Lenox Avenue, near 125th Street.

Officers found an adult man, unconscious and unresponsive, suffering from severe head trauma. Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Investigators determined that the man, who has not been identified, had been struck at that spot by an unknown vehicle which fled the scene, heading north on Lenox.

Authorities have not identified the vehicle or its driver and an investigation is ongoing, police said.
