Man Punches Two Elderly People In East Harlem, Police Say

Both elderly victims, a 70-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman, were taken to the hospital for their injuries.

EAST HARLEM, NY — The NYPD are trying to identify a man accused of assaulting two elderly people in East Harlem, police said.

A 70-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman were walking in the vicinity of East 112th Street and Park Avenue on Saturday night when they were approached by an unknown man, police told Patch. The man then punched the 70-year-old in his mouth and stomach and punched the woman in her face and head, police said.

Both victims suffered injuries and were treated at an area hospital, police told Patch.

The suspect — described as a man in his 30s standing 6-foot-2 with a slim build — is still at-large, police said. He was wearing a red t-shirt, blue jeans, and black shoes, police said. Police released a photo of the man (seen above) captured at a convenience store.
