Man Robs Harlem Bank Of $2,000, Police Say

HARLEM, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man who knocked over a bank in Harlem Monday, making off with thousands of dollars, police told Patch.

The suspected bank robber entered a Chase Bank on the corner of West 125th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue around 12:25 p.m. Monday and approached a bank teller, police said. The man then slid the teller a note demanding money, police told Patch.

The teller complied with the man's demands and handed him $2,000, police told Patch. The man fled the bank of foot in an unknown direction, police said.

The suspect (pictured above) is approximately 40 years old, stands 5-foot-8 and weighs around 170 pounds, police said. The man was wearing a dark baseball cap, green T-shirt and dark backpack at the time of the robbery, police told Patch.
