Man Shot in Harlem Deli Over Money Dispute: Police

HARLEM, NY — Police are searching for a man accused of shooting somebody in a Harlem deli early Tuesday morning.

The suspect, known only by the first name "Wayne" entered the New Harlem Grocery & Deli on West 116th Street near Malcolm X Boulevard around 12:55 and shot a man who was inside, an NYPD spokesman told Patch. The motive for the shooting was an argument over money, the spokesman said.

The victim, an unidentified man, suffered a gunshot wound to his right hip and was transported to Harlem Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, police told Patch.

The suspect fled west on West 116th Street before cops arrived to the scene of the shooting, an NYPD spokesman said.

The shooting is still under investigation and no arrests have been made, police said.

"Wayne" is described as having black hair and brown eyes, standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 210 pounds.
