Man Shot Outside Harlem Baptist Church After Attending Funeral: Police
The victim, who was punched in the face and shot in the right hand, was able to take the train to Harlem Hospital, police said.
HARLEM, NY — A 33-year-old man was shot outside of baptist church in Harlem after attending a funeral Tuesday, police told Patch.
The victim was standing outside Mount Neboh Baptist Church at 1883 Adam Clayton Powell Jj. Blvd near West 144th Street around 10:40 a.m. when he was approached by another man, an NYPD spokesman told Patch. After a short conversation the man punched the victim in the face, police said.
Police could not confirm what was said, but the Daily News reported the attacker said “Yo, black, let me holla at you,” and then "Do you know me?”

When the victim started to run away he was shot in the right hand, an NYPD spokesman told Patch.
The victim was able to escape and take the 2 train from the station on 116th Street and Lenox Avenue to Harlem Hospital where he was treated for his injuries, police said.

The suspect is described as a man in his 20s standing 5-foot-5 and weighing around 160 pounds .
