Man Struck, Killed By Charter Bus In East Harlem, Police Say

The pedestrian was crossing Second Avenue at East 99th Street when he was struck.

EAST HARLEM, NY - A man crossing the street in East Harlem was hit and killed by a charter bus Wednesday, police told Patch.

The 39-year-old man was in the intersection of Second Avenue and East 99th Street when he was struck by the bus shortly before 5 p.m., police said. The charter bus was traveling south down Second Avenue at the time of the collision, police said.

Officers responding to the scene discovered the man unconscious and unresponsive, police said. EMS declared the man dead on the scene, police told Patch.

The man's identity was not revealed.

The charter bus driver, a 57-year-old man, stayed on the scene of the collision and was not charged, police told Patch.
