Man's Body Found On Harlem River Shore, Police Say

A man was found dead in the Harlem River near the Macombs Dam Bridge. It's the second body to be pulled from the river in two weeks.

HARLEM, NY — A man's body was found Sunday afternoon on the rocky shores of the Harlem River, police told Patch.

Passersby called the police after spotting the man's body floating in the river near the Macombs Dam Bridge around 12:30 p.m. Sunday, police said. Officers responded to the scene and found the man unconscious and unresponsive near some rocks on the Manhattan side of the river, police told Patch.

EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene, police said. The man's age and identity has not been released.

The medical examiner's office will investigate the man's official cause of death.

Another man was found dead in the same stretch of the Harlem River less than two weeks ago on Thursday, June 29.
