Man's East Harlem Punching Death Ruled A Homicide
An October assault in East Harlem that left a 30-year-old man dead has been ruled a homicide, police said this week.

EAST HARLEM, NY — An October assault in East Harlem that left a 30-year-old man dead has been ruled a homicide, police said on Thursday.
Around 6:40 p.m. on Oct. 17, police responded to a 911 call reporting an assault in front of 2166 Third Ave., near East 118th Street.
Officers found the victim, who had been struck or punched in the head. He was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, where he died from his injuries on Nov. 3.

Police identified the victim as Jose Amaro Lopez, a resident of Bushwick, Brooklyn.
Police have made no arrests and an investigation is ongoing.
