NYC Subway Delays: 6 Train Between Harlem, The Bronx Disrupted By Water Main Break
A pipe break sent water cascading into a Bronx subway station Wednesday, disrupting 6 train service between Harlem and the Bronx.

HARLEM, NY — A water main break above a Bronx 6 train station disrupted the mid-day flow of passengers between Harlem and the Bronx on Wednesday.
Around noon, a water main broke above the East 143rd Street station in the Bronx, an MTA spokeswoman told Patch. The break caused water to flood the system, forcing the MTA to shut down 6 train service between Hunts Point Avenue and 125th Street in Harlem.
A passenger on a 6 train stalled at East 143rd street recorded a video of water cascading into the station.

The MTA shut off the water and repaired the water main break, an MTA spokeswoman told Patch. After repairs were done, MTA workers had to check on all the station's equipment and drain the tracks of water.
Service on the 6 train was restored shortly before 2 p.m. Wednesday, according to the MTA, with extensive delays.
