Permits Filed For New 6-Story Building On Second Avenue

EAST HARLEM, NY — A six-story apartment building is coming to a long-vacant lot on East 103rd Street and Second Avenue, according to recently filed construction permits.

The new development, located at 2000 Second Ave., will rise 64 feet above the sidewalk and feature 17 apartments split across 10,448 square feet, according to the application.

The previous building at the address was demolished a few years ago, after a four-alarm fire in March 2018 condemned the building.

Before the building was razed to the ground, it held a church, a deli, a cellphone store, and apartments, according to the NY Post.

The owner of the site, Aviv Ben Avi of AB+R Construction Corporation, submitted the permits on Wednesday, according to the Department of Buildings.

The architect is listed as Naresh Mahangu of NKM Engineering.
