Coaches and volunteers working with the New York City Football Club visited P.S. 57 in East Harlem this week.

EAST HARLEM, NY — Young leaders at PS 57 in East Harlem were visited by coaches and volunteers from the New York City Football Club and its sister team Manchester City this week for a training session at the school.

The week-long training session for the young leaders included classroom seminars and on-field training sessions designed to teach leadership and coaching skills. The young leaders then put those skills to the test by running a soccer camp in the PS 57 gym with 30 of the school's students.

“New York City FC’s community commitment is at the heart of everything we do and we’re proud to be rolling out the Young Leader training in New York City to support young people who are using soccer for social good," New York City FC Director of Community Development Paul Jeffries said in a statement.
