Police Find 3-Year-Old Girl Wandering in Front of Family's Harlem Apartment

Police were called to the scene by a neighbor who spotted the child around 3:30 a.m. Monday morning.

HARLEM, NY — Police found a 3-year-old girl wandering in front of her family's apartment building in Harlem early Monday morning.

Police responded to the scene around West 144th Street near Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard when they received a call from a neighbor around 3:30 a.m. reporting they had seen the child out on the street, police told Patch.

Officers returned the child home unharmed, but the child's mother was not home, police said.

Police do not expect any charges to be brought against the family of the 3-year-old, police said.
