Police Release Photos of Man Accused of Shooting Cab Driver in East Harlem
The man exited a cab without paying the fare and then shot the driver in the hand, police said.

EAST HARLEM, NY — Police released photos of a man they say shot a cab driver in East Harlem after an argument about cab fare.
The police are asking the public to help identify the man, who shot a cab driver in the hand Wednesday, Oct 5. around 9 a.m. The cab driver had chauffeured the man to the Robert F. Wagner Houses on 1st Avenue near East 123rd Street, police said.
After the ride was over, the man exited the cab and refuse to pay the fare, police said. The man then shot the driver and ran off into the nearby housing development, police said. Police remained at the Wagner Houses but were unable to track down the suspect, police said.

The cab driver, a 56-year-old man, was taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition, police said.
Police describe the suspect as in his 20s or 30s, standing around 6-feet-tall and weighing 200 pounds. The man has a dark complexion, brown eyes, black hair and was last seen wearing a black jacket, gray sweat suit and black sneakers.
