Suspect Identified in Fatal Harlem Shooting: Police

A 21-year-old was shot and killed Friday on West 141st Street near Frederick Douglass Boulevard.

HARLEM, NY — Police have identified a suspect in a fatal shooting that occurred Friday in Harlem.

Koron Bailey, 30, approached a 21-year-old man on West 141st Street near Frederick Douglass Boulevard around 1:50 p.m. and began shooting, police told Patch. When the 21-year-old dropped to the ground to avoid being shot, Bailey approached him and shot him once in the head, killing him, police said.

Bailey (pictured above) fled the scene on skateboard, heading east down 141st Street.

“I couldn’t see his face ... he was all blood,” witness Jose Mora told the New York Daily News. “He was lying face up shot in the face. There was a gallon of blood trailing to the corner of the sidewalk.”

The victim, who has not been identified, was transported to Harlem Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
