Two Men Stick Up East Harlem Barber, Get Away With $1.5K in Cash: Police

The robbers got away with a lot of cash after holding up a barber at gunpoint last weekend.

EAST HARLEM, NY — Police are searching for two gun-toting robbers that got away with a huge wad of cash after holding up a barber in East Harlem.

Two men entered a barbershop on the 2000 block of Third Avenue on Saturday, July 23, and showed their guns to a 38-year-old employee of the store, police said. The employee was forced to hand over his iPhone 6, a gold chain, his wedding ring and a whopping $1,500 in cash, police said.

After the robbery the suspects fled the scene and went down East 112 Street on foot, police said. There were no reported injuries, according to police.

Police described both suspected robbers as men in their late 30s with a dark completion, short black hair and medium build.
