Watch: Conan O'Brien Waits Tables At Sylvia's In Harlem

Late night talk show host Conan O'Brien worked a shift at Harlem soul food staple Sylvia's while he hosted his show in New York.

HARLEM, NY — Late night talk show host Conan O'Brien taped his show from Harlem's Apollo Theater this week, so naturally the auburn-haired comedian tried his hand at serving soul food at neighborhood staple Sylvia's.

O'Brien's shift at the soul food spot, in business on Malcolm X Boulevard and West 127th Street since the 60s, begins with a tour of the dining room. O'Brien points out the many celebrities who's pictures decorate the walls of the family-owned restaurant and jokes that Broadway legend Liza Minnelli has three photos.

The action picks up when O'Brien dons his hair net and apron and begins interacting with Sylvia's customers. The Boston-born talk show host eats customers' food, climbs over the bar to take orders, gets in an argument with Yankees fans and hands out free cakes.
