Man Dies After Crashing Stolen Car on Willis Avenue Bridge, 3 Others Injured

A man driving the wrong way on the Willis Avenue Bridge died after crashing a stolen car into another vehicle.

HARLEM, NY — A man is dead after a wrong-way car crash Monday on the Willis Avenue Bridge, which connects Harlem to the Bronx, police told Patch.

Police responded to the scene around 10:52 a.m. on Monday to discover a 30-year-old man unresponsive after crashing a stolen 2009 Mitsubishi Galant on the northbound lane of the Willis Avenue Bridge, police said. The driver of the stolen car was taken to Lincoln Hospital where he was pronounced dead around 2:55 p.m., police said.

Three people in the other car, a 2013 Buick Century, were taken to Lincoln Hospital with minor injuries, police said. The driver was arrested for driving with a suspended license, police said.
