Woman, 24, Shot Dead in Harlem's King Towers: Police
The woman was shot in the head Friday morning inside one of the housing development's buildings.
HARLEM, NY — A woman was shot to death early Friday morning inside Harlem's Martin Luther King Jr. Towers, police told Patch.
Officers responding to the King Towers discovered the woman inside a public housing building on 5th Avenue near West 114th Street around 1:50 a.m., police said. The 24-year-old woman, who has not been identified, had been shot in the head and EMS declared her dead on the scene, police told Patch.
The shooting is under investigation and the NYPD has not named any suspects or made any arrests, police said.

Friday's killing is the third murder in the NYPD's 28th Precinct — bounded by Central Park North and West 127th Street and 5th Avenue and Frederick Douglas Boulevard — according to NYPD Compstat data from Dec. 4. By this time last year there had also been three murders in the 28th Precinct, according to the crime data.
Murders are on the same pace as last year, but reported shootings in the 28th Precinct have dropped in 2016. By this time in 2015 there had been 16 reported shootings with 17 victims, compared to 10 reported shootings with 12 victims so far this year.
