Woman Charged in Fatal July 4 Party Stabbing in Harlem Makes First Court Appearance
Ashanti Daniels, 26, has been charged with murder and attempted murder in connection with a fatal July 4 party stabbing in Harlem.

HARLEM, NY — A woman facing murder charges in connection with a fatal stabbing in Harlem made her first court appearance Wednesday, according to court records.
Ashanti Daniels, 26, will held without bail, the Daily News Reported. She has been charged with the murder of Michelle Kenny, 38, and Kenny's daughter Tomiesha Abraham, 21, officials said. Daniels allegedly stabbed Kenny and Abraham early Tuesday morning after a July 4 party, police said.

Police arrived on the scene Tuesday morning to find a Abraham woman stabbed in the chest and arm and a Kenny woman stabbed in the chest. Kenny was transported to St. Luke's Hospital, where she died, police said.

Two other people were charged in connection with the stabbing. Tyson Martin, a 28-year-old man who lives with Daniels, has been charged with assault. James Martin, 27, was charged with assault and tampering with physical evidence.
Daniels is due in court again on Monday, July 11.
