EAST HARLEM, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man who robbed a woman at knifepoint on a subway train traveling through East Harlem late last month, police told Patch.

A 29-year-old woman was riding a northbound 6 train around 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday Aug, 30, when she was approached by an unknown man, police said. The man threatened the woman with a knife and demanded that she hand over her valuables, police told Patch.

The woman gave the robber her wallet and the man fled the train at the East 116th Street station, police told Patch. The woman's wallet contained her credit cards, police said. The woman was not physically injured during the robbery, police said.
