Broadview at Purchase College Appoints Robert D’Elia as Executive Director

Accomplished healthcare professional and Westchester native to lead intergenerational Senior Living Community, effective this month

PURCHASE, NY — June, 2026 — Broadview at Purchase College, a premier university retirement community located on the campus of Purchase College, will have a new Executive Director starting in June.

D’Elia is an accomplished healthcare operations executive with more than 23 years of experience across rehabilitation services and post-acute care. He succeeds Ashley Wade, who has successfully led the community since before its opening in 2023.

A lifelong resident of Westchester, D’Elia most recently served as the Corporate Director of Rehabilitation at The Osborn in Rye, where he oversaw sub-acute, long-term care, and outpatient rehabilitation services across the full continuum of care. At the Osborn, D’Elia was in charge of staffing, budgeting, compliance, and resident satisfaction.

A physical therapist by training, he earned his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from New York Medical College, followed by a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration.

D’Elia said while his career has evolved over the years, his love for working with older adults is what has tied it all together.

“My career has been dedicated to enhancing the quality of life, clinical excellence, and well-being of seniors. I look forward to building upon the wonderful foundation Ashley Wade established, working closely with our savvy residents, dedicated staff, and the administration at Purchase College to expand our intergenerational partnerships and mentorship opportunities for students. I am incredibly honored and excited to join the Broadview family and to lead this extraordinary community into its next chapter.’’

Representatives of Purchase College welcomed D’Elia and said they, too, looked forward to expanding the partnership.

Purchase College President Michael E. Steiper, Ph.D., said, “Since opening a few years ago, Broadview has been a transformative addition to the campus, enriching our community in meaningful ways. We look forward to working with the new Executive Director to further expand intergenerational learning opportunities, mentorship programs, and shared experiences that make Broadview such a distinctive and valuable part of Purchase College.”

Elizabeth Robertson, President of the Board of Directors of Purchase Senior Learning Community Inc., said, “The Directors of Purchase Senior Learning Community Inc., owner of Broadview, look forward to welcoming Rob as its second executive director. Rob impressed us with his interest and understanding of the mission of Broadview and his commitment to delivering the highest quality services and amenities to our vibrant and growing community.” She added, “The board worked closely with Broadview’s staff and residents during the interview process. Rob has all of our support.”

D’Elia has previously held key supervisory and leadership positions at nationally recognized regional facilities, including the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation and Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in White Plains. He also recently earned a Certificate in Healthcare Safety, Quality, Informatics, and Leadership from Harvard Medical School.

D’Elia’s leadership philosophy aligns closely with Broadview’s mission to deliver exceptional care, foster deep community connections, and support lifelong well-being. While his extensive background is rooted in healthcare administration, his vision for Broadview emphasizes enriching the social, emotional, and experiential environment for residents, their families, and staff alike. A major focus of his tenure, he said, will be strengthening ties with the university campus, leveraging the college administration's openness to create robust, two-way intergenerational programming and mentorship opportunities between students and residents.

"Robert's deep clinical expertise, combined with his operational acumen and genuine passion for resident-facing leadership, makes him the ideal choice to guide Broadview," said Amanda Elliott, Director, Operations Management for Life Care Services. "His familiarity with Westchester County and his vision for deepening our integration with the Purchase College campus will be invaluable assets as we continue to elevate the resident experience and highlight the exceptional care provided at our High Point Center for Care."

D’Elia lives in White Plains with his wife, Christina, and their son, Robert. Outside of his professional endeavors, he is an active volunteer who enjoys music, art, and coaching youth sports.
