Building Union Endorses Moving Harrison Forward Slate
The candidates support the union's efforts to enable its members to earn wages that allow them to live in the communities where they work.

The Moving Harrison Forward slate of candidates—Frank Gordon for Mayor and Lauren Leader and Michael Romita for Town Board—has been endorsed by the Building and Construction Trades Council of Westchester and Putnam Counties, the leading advocacy organization for fostering opportunities for local jobs for working class families on local infrastructure projects. The Council’s union affiliates include Teamsters Local 456, which represents approximately one-third of Harrison’s full-time municipal employees.
“We appreciate your commitment to work with organized labor and assist us in our endeavor to protect the rights of the men and women who work in the construction industry,” said Edward Doyle, President and Treasurer of the Council.

Moving Harrison Forward’s dedication to local hardworking families is affirmed by the abundant labor support it has received to date, including the Council and the Westchester-Putnam Counties AFL-CIO Central Labor Body, which together represent over 130,000 union families in Westchester and Putnam Counties.
In a joint statement, Gordon, Leader and Romita said, “We are humbled and honored to receive the Council’s endorsement. Working families are our essential partners. Without them, we cannot achieve the economic growth and vitality that will make Harrison a better place to live for everyone. We support the Council’s efforts to enable its members to earn wages that allow them to reside in the communities where they work.”
