The event is designed to train the citizens of New York State to be better prepared in the event of a natural or man-made disaster.

Hastings has an amazing family friendly Friday night live--Warburton Ave is closed to traffic on Friday, September 26 from 6 to 9 PM. According to Rivertownsguide.com Hastings High School Motown band and singer songwriter Gracie Patitucci will perform between 6 pm and 7 pm.
SATURDAY...DOBBS FERRY FESTA...

On Saturday September 27 Dobbs Ferry sponsors its terrific street fair --called Dobbs Ferry Festa. This event is one of the best street fairs in the region. Main Street and Cedar Street will be closed from 1 PM till 8 PM to provide the stage for a giant block party. there’s music, food, games, events, fun and 15,000 people to talk to!
SUNDAY...BICYCLE SUNDAY...
Bicycle Sunday is celebrating their 40th anniversary this Sunday. A ceremony, led by David Wilson will take place at the County Center. I will be participating. 40 years ago I was chair of the Task Force for Bikeways in Westchester which successfully pushed for the first bikeway in Westchester (Bronx River Parkway). And, in 1974 former County Executive Al Del Bello appointed me to his Bikeway Task Force which recommended the closing of the parkway on Sundays for cyclists.
SATURDAY...CITIZENS EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS TRAINING
The Governors office asked me to invite citizens to a Citizens Emergency Preparedness Training event this Saturday September 27th from 10 AM at Purchase College. The Governor is sponsoring an event to train the citizens of New York State to be better prepared in the event of a natural or man-made disaster as part of the Citizen Preparedness Corps. They will be holding a training this Saturday the 27th at 10:00 AM at Purchase College in the Recital Hall of the Conservatory of Music. They will have the New York National Guard, the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services, State Fire and State Police conduct the training, at the end of which all participants will receive a emergency “go bag” filled with emergency supplies (1 per household).

ON OCTOBER 11...FAIRVIEW FIRE DISTRICT FIRE SAFETY EVENT
Fairview Fire Chief Howard Reiss has advised that the Fairview Fire department is sponsoring safety day October 11 from 10-2 at the Greenburgh Library. They will promote fire safety at the event.
