Dan Rather to Speak at Manhattanville College's "Castle Conversations" Forum June 24
Dan Rather, whose name is synonymous with "investigative reporting," will bring his unique perspective to the news to Manhattanville June 24

Purchase, NY, May 11, 2015 -- Dan Rather, a nationally esteemed TV journalist whose name is synonymous with provocative “investigative reporting,” will be the speaker at Manhattanville College’s Castle Conversations, a speaker’s forum series, on Wednesday, June 24 at 7 PM in Reid Castle on the college’s Purchase, NY campus.
The long-time anchor of CBS News, Rather brings a unique perspective to the headlines and has covered the Kennedy assassination, the space race, political conventions, wars in Vietnam, Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan, and the horrific attack on New York City on September 11.
Mr. Rather believes that the “Fourth Estate – news – is being challenged and undermined on a daily basis. In the past two decades, the critical ability of a free and independent press to report on important issues locally, nationally and internationally has been severely curtailed, damaged and sometimes outright corrupted.”
