Protektor is set in Prague, 1938. In this visually-stunning, noir film about self-absorbed Czech artists and intellectuals that accommodated their German occupiers, a Czech journalist joins a Prague radio station that broadcasts Nazi propaganda in order to protect his Jewish wife. However, as Nazi rule over Czechoslovakia demands more and more collaboration, the betrayals multiply and the journalist’s relationship with his wife spirals downward. Meanwhile, his wife sets out on dangerous adventures of her own in this highly original drama exploring how war produces the most odious of compromises. The assassination of the Third Reich Deputy Protector and a chance encounter bring their lingering marriage to a crisis, possibly sealing Hana's fate. Protektor was directed by Marek Najbrt.
