Fordham Offers Palliative Care Course at Harrison Campus
This post-graduate intensive organized by Mary Beth Morrissey is meant for health care managers.
Fordham University has announced a Post-Master’s Healthcare Certificate program that focuses on the challenges healthcare managers face in caring for the frail, seriously ill and dying.
Titled Palliative and Long-Term Care: A Public-Health Approach, the weekend-intensive program starts on Friday, October 16 and runs through Monday, October 19. A second weekend intensive program will be held February 12-15, 2016. Tuition is$2,700 per person and $2,500 for Fordham alumni.
This executive education certificate program, which is held at Fordham’s Westchester campus, offers interdisciplinary education for healthcare and corporate leaders, professionals and managers, and health researchers, educators and scholars. Program participants may choose concentrations in gerontology, public health, palliative care or long-term care.

Dr. Morrissey, who is the organizer and founder of the program, is founder and president of the Collaborative for Palliative Care. She earned her PhD in gerontological social work in 2011 at the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service where she was a recipient of the Langenfeld Research Award for her doctoral research. She earned her MPH at the New York Medical College School of Health Sciences and Practice (2005), and her JD at Fordham Law School (1982). Dr. Morrissey is currently a Fellow of the Global Healthcare Innovation Management Center, Fordham University Graduate School of Business Administration.
