Getting Away For Labor Day? Find The Best Gas Prices Near Harrison

Harvey's having an impact — but will it last? Here are the details plus more travel news and tips.

HARRISON, NY — New Yorkers are seeing higher gas prices as they prepare for the long Labor Day weekend. Officials at AAA said the average price of gas nationally has hit a high for 2017. And Hurricane Harvey's devastating effect on the USA's refineries and pipelines is the cause.

They warned "the near-term combinations of numerous refinery and pipeline shut downs, tightened access to supply levels in the Gulf and anticipated high gasoline demand surrounding Labor Day weekend, means motorists may not have seen the full impact of Harvey at the pump."

However, the spike should not last longer than the end of September, said Jeanette Casselano, AAA spokesperson.
