You may be thinking about how many more days you can go to the beach, but the first day of school is just around the corner. With that in mind, here are important dates for the 2015-16 school year in the Harrison school district.

First day of school: Sept. 2

Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Sept. 14, 15

Yom Kippur (school closed): Sept. 23

Columbus Day (school closed): Oct. 12

Election Day, Superintendent’s Conference Day (no students): Nov. 3

Veterans Day (no school): Nov. 11

Thanksgiving recess (school closed): Nov. 26-27

Holiday recess: Dec. 24-Jan. 1 (school resumes Jan. 4)

Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (school closed): Jan. 18

Winter recess: Feb. 15-19

Superintendent’s Conference Day (no students): March 8

Spring recess: March 21-25

Early dismissal: April 22

Board and budget vote: May 17

Memorial Day: May 30

Grades K-6 early dismissal: June 20-22

Last day of school: June 23

Harrison High School graduation: June 24
