Harrison Trustees to Make Police Promotions

The town is expected to make the appointments Thursday.

HARRISON, NY — Harrison Town Board members are expected to appoint their acting police chief to the post provisionally at their Thursday meeting.

Michael Olsey became acting chief when Police Chief Anthony Marraccini was suspended Sept. 16 and then retired in October.

According to the agenda, the board is also expected to make a provisional appointment of Edward Detlefs to the position of captain. That post has been vacant since Marraccini was appointed chief in 2010. His annual salary was $185,000, and he also received a $12,000 stipend since the department did not replace him as captain.
