Harrison High School is proud to announce that fifty two seniors have earned Summa, Magna, and Cum Laude recognitions for the Class of 2013.
Three years ago, the students of Harrison High School worked with administrators and Board of Education members to develop a system that would not reward only the school’s valedictorian and salutatorian but rather create a tiered system of honors as determined by a student’s cumulative weighted grade-point average. The result was three levels of distinction: Summa Cum Laude (with highest praise) for students earning a weighted 98.00 or higher; Magna Cum Laude (with great praise) for students earning a 95.00-97.99; and Cum Laude (with praise) for students earning a 93.00-94.99.
