HHS Senior Scott Nielsen Awarded AATF Outstanding Student In French Award
Harrison High School student recognized by the American Association of Teachers of French

Congratulations to HHS senior Scott Nielsen who has earned the 2015 Outstanding Senior in French award for Harrison High School from the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF). Founded in 1927, AATF has as its mission the promotion of the study of French language and French-speaking literatures and cultures at all levels. To qualify for the award, a student must have maintained an “A” average in French and a “B” average overall and have demonstrated exceptional commitment to the study of French both in and out of class.
According to his French teacher Madame Michel, Scott has shown serious commitment and admirable passion toward his learning of French language and Francophone cultures during his four years at Harrison High School. Whether through his classroom learning or extracurricular fundraising as the Crêpe King, Scott has consistently demonstrated leadership, encouragement and inclusion toward others.
“For Scott, who is such an enthusiastic class participant and dedicated French Club Officer, French has seemingly been his raison d’être....his joie de vivre. And yes, he is truly INCROYABLE!”
