High Wind Watch Issued for Southern Westchester
Downed trees and power lines are likely, with numerous power outages possible, the National Weather Service says.
The National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch for Southern Westchester as a "significant coastal storm" heads up the East Coast.
Storm seas could build to 5 to 9 feet on Long Island Sound, the NWS said.
The wind watch will be in effect from late Sunday night until late Monday night. Sustained winds of 30-40 mph will likely gust up to 60 mph, the NWS says.

"Downed trees and power lines are likely, with numerous power outages possible," according to the wind watch. "Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles and on elevated roads and bridges."
The highest wind gusts are expected mid-Monday morning into the evening.
The storm will also bring 1-3 inches of rain to the Hudson Valley, with the heaviest rain likely Monday afternoon and evening.
