Manhattanville President Frank D. Sánchez, Ph.D. Named in ‘2026 Trailblazers in Higher Education’ List
The list from City and State NY features notable leaders in higher education in the region

Purchase, NY, June 2026 – Manhattanville University President Frank D. Sánchez, Ph.D., has been included in this year’s list of “2026 Trailblazers in Higher Education.” The list is compiled by City and State NY, which covers New York’s local and state politics and policy.
Here’s what City and State NY said about Dr. Sánchez:
“Frank Sánchez is embracing innovation and shaping the future of Manhattanville University. Sánchez, who took over at the private liberal arts institution in 2023, has revamped the curriculum and expanded marketing and recruitment efforts far beyond New York. The former CUNY official has also increased Manhattanville’s applications by 65% and new student enrollment by 20%, launched workforce partnerships across industries and delivered a greater return on investment for students.”

The “2026 Trailblazers in Higher Education” list includes top personnel at both large and small schools and well as public officials, advocates, and organizers who are playing a key role in reimagining higher education in New York.
“Having President Sánchez included in the list of the top trailblazers in higher education in New York is quite an honor,” said Michael Dunn ’77, Chair of Manhattanville’s Board of Trustees. “It reflects his continued hard work and dedication to Manhatanville University. I’m proud of the work he has done and continues to do to make sure Manhattanville is an exceptional place of higher learning.”

In 2026, Manhattanville launched several new learning pathways for students. The University announced a new Valiant Fast Track Bachelor’s Program, an innovative three-year residential bachelor’s degree designed for traditionally aged undergraduate students seeking a rigorous, career-oriented education without compromising the full college experience. The University also announced a new Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, a fully online, flexible degree that can be completed in as little as one year. Manhattanville introduced a new Master of Public Health (MPH) program that addresses growing global and community health needs, combining data-driven insight with human-centered leadership and a strong emphasis on equity and social impact. Manhattanville also introduced a new 36-credit Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in Special Education, designed for individuals who are not already certified teachers.
