Potholes, Garbage Pickup, Library Discussion Group, New Officers

Harrison officials also have a timely request: "when clearing driveways and walkways, please refrain from shoveling snow into the streets."

From Mayor Ron Belmont and the Town Board

Seasonal leaf pick up is now complete and our highway crews will be working diligently to spot and repair pot holes. Crews will be using asphalt hot boxes that will improve and prolong our road repair system. In the past, our Department of Public Works used only cold asphalt patch to temporarily fill pot holes and repair our municipal roadways. The asphalt hot box is designed to maintain the asphalt temperature, for a prolonged period of time, thereby making any repairs permanent.

If you have any concerns regarding potholes, please direct your calls to the Department of Public Works main number at 670-3100.

I’m happy to announce that after months of rigorous training at the Westchester County Police Academy, the Harrison Police Department has added several new members to the police force. Congratulations to the following officers: Justin Caraballosa, Randy Bakay, Michael Basciano Agron Biberaj, Michael Disante, Christopher Oliva, Ami Postiglione. It was a privilege to attend the graduation ceremony at SUNY Purchase and congratulate the new recruits as they begin their careers in law enforcement. I have every confidence that they will carry out their duties to protect and serve with compassion and professionalism.

In closing, I would like to thank the Highway Department for doing a wonderful job clearing our streets of leaf piles and brush. The Highway crews have cleared the majority of our municipal roadways, in record time, and I would like to commend them for their hard work. Now that winter is upon us, I would like to remind residents that, as a snowstorm approaches, please remember to put cars into driveways to help with street plowing efforts. In addition, when clearing driveways and walkways, please refrain from shoveling snow into the streets.
