PURCHASE COLLEGE CELEBRATES SPRING WITH A WIDE RANGE OF MUSIC

Students from the renowned Conservatory of Music Perform Several Concerts Ranging from Jazz to Classical

The Purchase College Conservatory of Music will usher in spring by presenting several concerts in Westchester and New York City, featuring students selected from the highly competitive conservatory, begin April 11 at the renowned Blue Note Club in New York City and culminate in a multi-media performance by Purchase Orchestra on May 4. Also of special note is a performance on April 26 of The Creation, an original work for the Soul Voices Choir by Pete Malinverni, head of Jazz Studies.

“The Purchase College Conservatory of Music is an incredible resource for the community,” says James Undercofler, interim director of the Conservatory. “Our students are among the most talented and professional in the country. We are thrilled to invite the public to enjoy their efforts and to witness their talents before they disperse for concert halls, festivals, and jazz clubs around the world after graduation.”

“We’re delighted to mark Jazz Appreciation Month in April by presenting so many up-and-coming musicians. We’re very grateful to our audiences for their enthusiasm, and especially to our donors, Eugene and Emily Grant, for their support of The Creation and other works throughout the year.”
