Assistant Professor of New Media and Computer Science Lee Tusman was recently named a fellow at The Engelberg Center on Innovation Law & Policy at the NYU School of Law.
According to its mission, “The Engelberg Center on Innovation Law & Policy provides a unique environment where scholars can examine the key drivers of innovation as well as the law and policy that best support innovation.” He’ll join legal scholars and practitioners, technologists, economists, social scientists, physical scientists, historians, innovators, and industry experts to “study the incentives that motivate innovators, how those incentives vary among creative endeavors, and the laws and policies that help or hinder them.”

For Tusman’s fellowship, he will be creating a mini-series of his podcast Artists and Hackers exploring how new media practitioners work with intellectual property, the public domain, and creative commons.
Assistant Professor Tusman is an artist, programmer, educator, and organizer. He is the host of the podcast Artists and Hackers, and is a co-organizer at Babycastles, a New York City-based collective fostering and amplifying diverse voices in videogame culture.
