Reward Doubled for Info on Tow Truck Driver's Death

The deadly hit-and-run driver went north on I-95.

HARRISON, NY — New York State Crime Stoppers is now offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the death of a tow truck operator killed by a hit-and-run driver on I-95.

Sal Brescia had responded to a 6:18 a.m. call from a disabled motorist on the northbound side of 95 in Harrison, near the exit for Rye Playland.

Brescia, 32, of Yonkers, was loading the vehicle onto his truck when he was struck by a passing car that kept going.

Hundreds of people, including tow truck drivers, attended Brescia's funeral in Mamaroneck on Tuesday, The Journal News reported.

To be eligible from the Crime Stoppers reward, anyone with information is asked to call the NYS Crime Stoppers hot line at 1-866-313-TIPS. Tipsters can also visit the webpage and leave a confidential tip.
