Son of 'Sopranos' Star Arrested For Painting Swastika in College Dorm

Vadim Imperioli also faces a charge of petty theft.

HARRISON, NY — The son of Michael Imperioli, who played Christopher on "The Sopranos," is accused of spray-painting a swastika at Purchase College, according to news reports.

Vadim Imperioli is a freshman at the arts and music college in Westchester County that is part of the State University of New York system. He is majoring in cinema arts, according to the Purchase Phoenix, an online student news outlet.

The incident happened Nov. 20. The investigation was conducted by university cops with assistance from the New York State Police.

“We have zero tolerance for this behavior on campus," said Purchase College’s Chief of Police, Dayton Tucker. "We thank the District Attorney’s Office and the NYS Police Troop K BCI investigators for their support. We continue to investigate the other incidents and, with the community’s cooperation, we hope to get closure on those as well.”

The swastika was found on a bulletin board in a dorm, The Journal News reported. That same week, graffiti reading “black lives don’t matter” was found on campus. The Phoenix reported that university police are investigating that as a separate incident.

Imperioli was in Harrison town court Tuesday to answer an unrelated charge of petty theft, according to The Journal News. His famous father, who was born in Westchester, was not present, TJN resported.

The Purchase community endured a similar hate crime last year. Raymond Turchioe, an 18-year-old from Manhattan, painted graffiti, including swastikas and nooses, on the walls of three dorms in March of 2015.
