State Police: Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Prescription Drug Arrest

During a routine traffic stop on I-287 Friday, State Police discovered prescription painkillers that did not belong to the driver, and troopers arrested him on felony charges, according to authorities.
West Harrison resident Victor Gimenez-Aguilera, 31, was taken into custody just before midnight. Below is the press release about the arrest from State Police:
On Friday, August 29, 2014 at approximately 11:45 p.m. a Trooper patrolling the Thruway, Interstate 287 east bound, stopped a vehicle driven by Victor Gimenez-Aguilera, 31, of West Harrison, NY for having an inoperable tail lamp. While the Trooper was speaking to Gimenez-Aguilera, he noticed a pill container with no labeling in plain view in the car. Further investigation revealed that Gimenez-Aguilera possessed prescription painkillers which were not prescribed to him. Gimenez-Aguilera was arrested and processed at SP Tarrytown without incident. He was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th degree, a class C Felony and a Public Health Law violation for having a Controlled Substance not in its original container.
