Aerosmith, formed in 1970, is the best selling American hard rock band of all time, having sold more than 150 million records worldwide. The band has 25 gold albums, 18 platinum albums and 12 multi-platinum albums.

Hamilton, a versatile musician who occasionally plays the guitar and sings backing vocals, co-wrote two of Aerosmith’s major hits, “Sweet Emotion” and “Janie’s Got a Gun.” In addition to his international renown as a rock star, he has a reputation as a talker, always looking for chances to jest during interviews.

Aerosmith’s style, while rooted in blues-based hard rock, also incorporates elements of pop, heavy metal, and rhythm and blues, a mix that has inspired many other rock artists.

Tom and Terry Hamilton have been married since 1975 and they have two children, Julian and Sage (who attends Manhattanville College).
