What’s the most difficult challenge you’ve faced as a business owner?
People understanding that yoga can benefit every "body" regardless of shape or size. It's important to take time to slow down in this fast paced life. I feel for everyone who doesn't have time to get to a studio. I can bring yoga to you. And I can make session fit students needs - whether it be peaceful, relaxing, strong or goal orientated. It can be even fun - Harry Potter yoga, Kitty Yoga, etc - make it fun and exciting while still learning the postures and paying mind to breathing techniques.
What’s been your proudest achievement since opening?
Finally getting the Harrison Public Library to host Kitty Yoga on January 8th. Using yoga with cats in need of adoption. Animals are therapeutic. Yoga doesn't have to be so serious. Getting people to find peace and help animals find homes in the library, one of my favorite places in town.
How does your business give back to the community?
I'm working exclusively in Harrison for Harrison residents. Sure I could travel to other towns and studios. But I've been holding classes at the Harrison Tavern and Nora's Ovenworks. It gives business an opportunity to get customers in their doors. It's building a community within our community businesses. Small businesses coming together to make for better business.
