Long Island Expressway Car Fire Shuts Lanes
BREAKING: The Monday morning commute is more awful than usual today.
BRENTWOOD, NY – A car fire has slowed things to crawl on the westbound Long Island Expressway Monday morning. A vehicle caught fire in the middle lane of the LIE in Brentwood around 7:15 a.m.
Three of the four westbound lanes are closed; just the HOV lane remains open, according to the New York Department of Transportation.
There has been no word yet on any possible injuries.
