FOREST BROOK SECOND GRADE STUDENTS LEARN ABOUT LIFE ON A FARM IN THE 1870s

Forest Brook Elementary School students in Meaghan Ricker’s and Suzanne Cipri’s class, along with Jennifer Kelly’s and Antoinette Sposato’s second grade classes recently had an opportunity to spend the day at the Suffolk County Farm in Yaphank, New York. The students enjoyed participating in the various educational centers that mimicked what life was like in the 1870s. The students milked a pretend cow, met several farm animals, made tin luminaries, churned butter, hand-dipped candles and role-played in a General Store as part of their learning adventure.
