Hauppauge 6th Graders Enjoy Class Field Trip to Crade of Aviation and Take a Spin on Historic Nunley's Carousel

Hauppauge Middle School 6th graders recently enjoyed a class field trip to the Cradle of Aviation Museum. The students had an opportunity to travel through time learning about more than 75 air and spacecraft, ranging from hot air balloons and kites to jet aircraft and an actual lunar module at the eight Cradle of Aviation Museum galleries.

The 6th graders were awed by the “Solar System Tour.” This immersive planetarium and full-dome theater offers one of the largest and most powerful virtual reality experiences in the world. The students learned all about the different objects that populate the solar system with a sampling of rocky planets, gas giants, asteroids, comets and meteors.

In addition, the students had an opportunity to take a spin on the legendary, 100-year-old Nunley’s Carousel, which has been fully restored to its historic glory at the Cradle of Aviation Museum Row.
