Motel Found On Fire Known For Prostitutes, Drug Addicts: Report

A fire broke out at the motel on Thursday morning.

HAUPPAUGE, NY - A fire broke out at a Hauppauge hotel on Thursday morning, Suffolk Police confirmed.

Police received a call for a fire at the Olympic Lodge Motel at 650 Motor Parkway at about 9 a.m.

No injuries were reported.

Police did not say if the fire was suspicious, but the cause is under investigation by the Arson Squad.

Several employees from nearby businesses have been reporting that the motel, which doubles as Section 8 housing, is a hot spot for "drug addicts and prostitutes."

“There’s always something over there,” an employee from Mario’s Italian Restaurant told the New York Post. “There’s a lot of prostitutes and drug addicts. I wish it was a big fire not a small fire."

Another employee from Leonardo’s Pizza Cafe also reiterated that the motel attracts prostitutes and drug addicts.

“I see them coming here, they ask me for food, they ask me for pizza, they try to look in the dumpster for food,” he told the New York Post. “They always have cigarettes in their hands, cell phones, nice shoes so they’re spending their money somewhere! Capiche?”
