Fire Rips Through Sanitation Building Off Vets Highway
Part of Vets Highway remains closed down due to the fire, which broke out early Wednesday.
ISLANDIA, NY - A massive fire ripped through a sanitation building off Veterans Memorial Highway in Islandia early Wednesday.
More than a dozen fire departments battled the blaze at Jet Sanitation Service Corp. at 228 Blydenburg Road near the Islandia Shopping Center. The fire started around 2:30 a.m., police said.
No injuries have been reported.
