HAUPPAUGE HIGH SCHOOL TECHNOLOGY CLUB WINS 2nd PLACE FOR DISTANCE IN LONG ISLAND PUMPKIN FLING CONTEST

The Hauppauge High School Technology Club won 2nd Place for Distance in the annual Long Island Pumpkin Fling Championship. The team competes under the name “The Hauppauge Hurlers.” Recently held at the Suffolk County Farm and Education Center in Yaphank, the Pumpkin Fling is “Long Island’s annual championship pumpkin catapult contest where students get a unique opportunity to experience the joys and trials of designing, building and operating sophisticated mechanical devices,” stated Technology Club Adviser Chris Dowd.
